Keep Your Promises

Keep Your Promises is a global campaign calling on decision makers to honour the commitments they have made to end the water and sanitation crisis. Decision makers have made promises locally, nationally, regionally and globally to get safe drinking water and sanitation to the world's poorest countries and communities - but words are not enough! These promises must be kept to bring an end to the global sanitation and water crisis.

During the World Walks for Water and Sanitation, participants invited their politicians along to their event, asking them to uphold their commitments and many handed in the Keep Your Promises petition. While the World Walks for Water and Sanitation is behind us, there are still lots of ways in which you can get involved with the Keep Your Promises campaign to keep up pressure on politicians to stick to their commitments.

You can find out whether your national government is upholding its promises through www.WASHwatch.org. The website contains the latest information on rates for access to water and sanitation and updates on budget allocation. A guide to using WASHwatch can be found here.
